Ysgubor Bach Self Catering Cottage

At Ysgubor Bach we aim to provide comfortable accommodation for all our guests. Nothing is too much trouble
The approach to Ysgubor Bach is via a small unmade up lane from the main road between Aberdaron and Whistling Sands (Port Oer). We have a gravel covered level car parking area adjacent to the cottage when you arrive. Luggage can be unloaded outside the cottage and there is parking for three cars immediately to the side. Any additional vehicles can be parked on the hard standing in front of the garage.

    • The owners Simon or Irina are usually available to greet you and to help with any luggage, and assist you in to the cottage
    • Access to the cottage is either through the conservatory at the from which has a small storm guard step or through the back door that also has a small storm guard step. Each is easily manageable by wheelchair.
    • The entrance to the front of the cottage is over a 100mm step through a doorway 800mm wide extendable to 1600mm.
    • The entrance to the rear of the cottage is over a 120mm step through a doorway 640mm wide.
    • Downstairs toilet by rear door with door 720mm wide.
    • Entrance to lounge/dining area through door from conservatory 950mm wide and over a step of 80mm.
    • From the lounge / dining area you can access the open plan kitchen area via a 70mm step through a door 840mm wide. The kitchen worktops are 950mm high, the kitchen is fitted with a 4-burner gas cooker with two electric oven which have side hinged doors. There is also a dishwasher and fridge in the kitchen.
    • Access to the 4 bedrooms is up a flight of stairs with a banister on the left.
    • The narrowest part of the landing is 560mm wide.
    • The door to the en-suite bedroom is 660mm wide.
    • The door to the en-suite shower/toilet is 720mm wide.
    • The door to the bathroom/toilet is 600mm wide down a 200mm step from the landing.
    • The door to the shower room is 560mm wide.
    • The door to the bunk room is 590mm wide.
    • The door to the twin room is 630mm wide.
    • The door to the second double room is 660mm wide.
    • 1 double room at the rear of the property has an en-suite shower and toilet, the remaining 3 rooms have to use the bathroom and separate shower room on the landing. All of the bedrooms are on the same level but the main en-suite bedroom is at the other side of the stairs.
    • Light switches and power points are at a sensible height.
    • Maximum of 2 dogs are welcomed in the cottage but please clean up after them in the garden and do not allow them on the beds or soft furnishings.
    • There are blue recycling boxes placed near the rear door for bottom: glass; middle: tins and plastic; top: paper and card.
    • Green refuse bin for all non-recyclable waste is provided at the side of the garage.
    • The grass area at the side of the property is available for the dogs to be exercised in as it has a secure fence around it. Wheelchair access to this area is through the field gate at the front of the property as there are steps leading to the garden from the rear of the property.
    • There is a level tiled patio area in front of the property with a picnic table and chairs.
    • Ysgubor Bach is 1 mile from the nearest village of Aberdaron which is a typical small Welsh seaside village. There is parking and toilet facilities for Blue Badge holders in the National Trust car park next to Port y Swnt visitor centre.
    • There is no Shop Mobility scheme operating in the immediate vicinity.
    • Supermarkets Asda,Tesco, and Waitrose all undertake deliveries to the area.
    • Simon & Irina live next door and are available to assist whenever possible.
